Slow down.
The river will show you…

Peaceful small-group kayak adventures through mist, wildlife, quiet water and the wonderfully suspicious stories of the Pioneer River.

Welcome to Platypus Adventures

Every paddle tells a story.

Before the sun fully rises, the Pioneer River feels like a world of its own. Mist skims the water, birds begin their morning chorus and every ripple makes you wonder what might surface next.

Our relaxed tours are made for small groups, beginners and anyone who needs an excuse to slow down. Platypus are wild, so sightings are never guaranteed. That is exactly why every glimpse feels so special.

Every morning is different

Brief. Unexpected. Unforgettable.

Some mornings the platypus appear immediately. Some mornings they make us earn it. And occasionally they have clearly been at an underground river rave and arrive fashionably late.
