Before you paddle

Frequently asked questions.

Will we definitely see a platypus?

No. They are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed. We paddle through known habitat, keep voices low and let the river decide.

Do I need kayaking experience?

No. It is relaxed and beginner-friendly. Kayaks, paddles, personal flotation devices, waterproof phone pouches and a safety briefing are supplied.

How many guests?

Up to eight guests so the experience stays calm, personal and respectful of wildlife.

What is the minimum age?

Eight years. Children aged 8–11 share a double kayak with an adult.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes that can get damp, enclosed water-friendly footwear, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and drinking water.
